School of Leaders

The School of Leaders gives comprehensive and effective training to produce strong Christians in a short space of time

For many years we were aware that there should be a more streamlined ‘equipping track’ which would enable us to produce strong Christians in a short space of time. We were amazed that the Apostle Paul, on his first missionary journey, spent only nine months evangelising, planting churches and re-visiting them to establish elders (Acts 13-14). We wondered how he did that! Then we realised that he used a set ‘curriculum’ a ‘body of teaching’ which he used in all the churches to ensure and proper foundation and which would produce mature believers (1 Corinthians 4:17).

Intentional and focused discipleship

When Jesus came to save us he did not save us only from our past. He came to save us for a purposeful and productive life. Ephesians 2:10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. But to achieve this we need to be trained, apprenticed, or, to use Biblical language, ‘be discipled.’ Every Christian is called to the ministry and it is the local church leaders responsibility to ensure that every member is given the opportunity to be equipped, trained and released in service.

Ephesians 4:11-12 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up…

The School of Leaders

The School of Leaders helps prepare cell members to fulfil Christ's call upon their lives by thoroughly preparing them for disciple-making and cell leading. Topics include foundational Christian doctrine, guarding your family life, intercession, evangelism, dynamics of cell life and leadership, counseling skills and so on.

Along with the Encounters, the School of Leadership gives comprehensive and effective training in disciple making.

The School of Leaders is held on one mid-week evening in three 10-week terms.

Who can enrol on the School of Leaders?

Anyone who is a sincere Christian and has attended the Encounter course can enrol on the School of Leaders and all graduates will have the opportunity to take a step of faith by joining with others to begin a new cell group. This is how we envisage King’s Church growing in quality and quantity.
