Part of the Picnic in the Palace event
Let’s all picnic in our very own Palace! The Festival and Swanmore based charity, St George Foundation, have arranged an afternoon of musical performances, singing, drum workshops and fun activities for children.
There will be jazz, ukulele and woodwind bands, plus local group, Chomp, playing for us. Our very own Festival Singers will be performing along with a solo singer and St. George’s Choir. Children can learn circus skills, scissor art, get into drama and have their faces painted. Everyone can check their rhythm skills by joining in one of the African drums workshops which will take place throughout the afternoon!
You can bring your own rugs and picnics but leave room for the afternoon teas, coffee, soft drinks and ices which will be for sale on site.
Gates open at 11.45 am with the musical performances starting at 12.00 and continuing to 4pm with a drumming workshops performance as the final act.
And for all this, the tickets are just £5 for anyone over 15 years but free for younger people.
Most of the proceeds from the day will go to the St George Foundation, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of children in Sierra Leone (www.stgeorgefoundation.org.uk)
Tickets from Distinctive Design, Cross St, Bishop’s Waltham (01489 891041) or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
