Discovery Course

Discovery blank A6

Do you want to explore basic Christianity in a simple and straightforward way? This course consists of just 5 weekly sessions covering the following subjects:

Why bother with Christianity?

Can we trust the Bible?

What’s so special about Jesus?

Making sense of the Cross

How to become a Christian

The learning is presented by either a live skilled tutor or sometimes DVD's are shown. The small groups of facilitator-led discussions provide the opportunity to discuss what has been presented, to ask questions and share thoughts in a safe and honest environment. You will be provided with a course book and take-home notes for further study to give you the opportunity to absorb and reflect in your own time.

Next course dates: Thursday 7th April 2022

Foundation Course

Untitled presentation

Primarily designed as a sequel to the Discovery Course, the Foundation Course is great for those searching for the truth or for those who want to know the basic building blocks of New Testament Christianity.

Consisting of 8 modular sessions, including:
Assurance of salvation

An overview of the entire Bible

Prayer

The importance of church

Baptism

Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The resurrection of the dead

Eternal judgement

It's purpose is to consolidate a Christian’s understanding of how to build a strong and productive life, based on the teachings of the New Testament. It also aims to present a balanced view of the weightier, biblical issues of heaven and hell – a much needed, challenging guide to following Christ in the 21st century!

We have the following facilities:

  • Stairlift - at the back of the church.
  • Disabled toilets - ground floor.

Please let one of the Welcome Team know if you have any further access needs.

Our Service - What to expect
  • We begin the service with a time of worship and prayer, with up to 5 songs led by our band.
  • News updates and notices, usually about what’s going on in the life of the church will also be communicated during the service.
  • One of our leaders will then give a sermon that is bible based and that we can apply to our everyday life.
  • We then finish with a final worship song. Sometimes there is an opportunity to receive prayer at the end of the service.
  • After the service you are more than welcome to stay behind for a cuppa and a chat.
What about my kids?

We have a great programme lined up for kids of all ages:

  • King's Kids (5-11 years).
  • Youth (11-15 years), meet every 1st and 3rd week of the month.
  • Young people (15+ years) Stay in service.

Children stay with their parent or grown-up at the start of the service for the welcome, songs and notices. We really value worshipping God all together as a family. At the end of the notices someone will announce that it’s time for the younger members to go to their various groups. You will need to go with your children to their groups and register them as part of our child safety policy. Whilst you are dropping your kids off at their groups, we pause to take time to chat to someone sitting near or next to us, giving folk a chance to come back before the sermon begins.

The kids group activities vary depending on the age but usually there is a friendly welcome, bible stories, testimonies, praying, music, craft, drama, fun games and free play. Please pick your children up as soon as the service finishes.
